Fashion Tv Midnight Hot Online

ZARE

On Sunday October 17 evening, I was lucky that the random use of "remote" with its infrared move from the couch on my TV circuits take me to see an interview with two of the TVE in featuring the American scientist Richard N. Zare recently awarded the BBVA Foundation Award : "At the frontiers of knowledge" in the Basic Sciences category. The most important merit of their work relates specifically to the study of the interaction of radiation, where the laser with molecules. Listen to this scientist of 71 years and huge glasses talking to the illusion of a child about his work and showing a passion for knowledge of nature was a flash of light in the middle of the night.

The discovery of lasers in the sixties revolutionized the technology in different fields. Richard N. Zare at work has emphasized in particular in its use to study and analyze the molecules. It was striking his explanation in this regard, in that interview, when taking out a laser pointer , of \u200b\u200bwhich every teacher uses in class, demonstrated how this radiation can excite the fluorescence of molecules passing through the aqueous solution contained in a glass on his desk. This interaction allows the analysis of molecules by fluorescent emission of radiation in environments as complex as the rocks of meteorites, which scientists try to find organic waste from other planets or incandescent flame, within which the molecules remain at a combustion fraction of a second. The laser is certainly hope for possible future applications as varied as the search for alternative energy sources or the detailed study of the biochemistry of cancer that allow more individualized treatment of this disease. We are the result of molecules that do not see but at the border scientific knowledge mixed some great physics, chemistry and biology to show that there is a way to go.
I slept quite late on Sunday after this interview even seeing flashing lights in the glass of Dr Zare.
