Bonnet Corner Dam




The Bonnet Corner Dam is a hydroelectric conceived in 1904 by Victor Sudriers Uruguayan engineer, designed by German engineer Dr. Ing Adolfo Ludin in 1933 and inaugurated on December 21, 1945 and belonging to the state energy company of Uruguay, UTE. Its nominal capacity is 160 MVA. Located in the course of Black River, a few miles upstream from Paso de los Toros, and his dam is the largest capacity in the country, taking three months to decrease from its peak to its lowest level during operation operating the four Kaplan turbines, each of which is fed by a pipe 7 m in diameter.
